Alva Courses vs Appointment Booking App Apntlyfor Shopify (2026)
Alva Courses and Appointment Booking App Apntly are both Shopify apps catering to merchants selling digital products, but they address fundamentally different needs. Alva Courses focuses on enabling merchants to create and sell online courses, transforming their expertise into revenue through video, quizzes, and downloadable resources. Its key strength lies in its simplicity and focus on content delivery, making it ideal for individuals or businesses looking to monetize their knowledge. Appointment Booking App Apntly, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who offer services or experiences that require scheduled appointments, whether in-person or online. Its strength lies in its robust scheduling features, calendar integrations, and team management capabilities. While both apps share the "Digital Products" category, their target audiences diverge significantly. Alva Courses aims at educators, experts, and content creators, while Appointment Booking App Apntly targets businesses offering services like consultations, beauty treatments, or event bookings. The review disparity (1 vs. 1170 reviews) suggests Appointment Booking App Apntly has significantly wider adoption and likely a longer market presence. Alva Courses, while having a perfect rating, suffers from lack of social proof due to the extremely low number of reviews. This should make users cautious.

Our Verdict
If you're an educator, expert, or content creator seeking a simple way to create and sell online courses, Alva Courses might be appealing despite its lack of substantial review data. Its focus on creating rich learning experiences and generating revenue from expertise is a compelling proposition. However, due to the extremely small amount of reviews, merchants should be wary and potentially look into other well-established course creation platforms.
For businesses needing a robust solution to manage appointments, events, or service bookings, Appointment Booking App Apntly is the clear choice. Its extensive features, calendar integrations, team support, and high review count suggest a reliable and well-established platform. The ability to take deposits and manage cancellations/rescheduling without manual intervention also make it more appealing for businesses in that niche.
