Amai COD ‑ Cash on Delivery vs Intuitive Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
Amai COD - Cash on Delivery and Intuitive Shipping are Shopify apps that both fall under the 'Delivery and Pickup' category, but cater to drastically different needs and scales. Amai COD likely focuses on providing a simple Cash on Delivery payment option, suggesting its target audience is merchants in regions where COD is a prevalent payment method. The app's very low rating (3.1/5) and minuscule number of reviews (2) indicate potential issues with functionality, support, or overall user satisfaction. Its core value proposition likely centers on enabling COD payments without complex configuration. Given the lack of detail about its features, we can only assume it focuses on just the single need, and may provide very limited advanced functionality. Intuitive Shipping, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive shipping solution for stores that have outgrown basic shipping options. Its high rating (5/5) based on a substantial number of reviews (435) suggests a high level of user satisfaction. The app emphasizes flexibility and control, providing granular pricing options and the ability to customize the checkout experience. It clearly targets merchants with more complex shipping requirements who need advanced features such as rule-based shipping, dimensional rates, and customizable checkout branding. The provided description highlights personalized onboarding and support, further distinguishing it as a more enterprise-grade shipping solution.

Our Verdict
Amai COD ‑ Cash on Delivery appears to be suitable for small businesses or startups primarily focused on offering Cash on Delivery as a payment option. The low rating and limited reviews, however, suggest caution. Merchants should thoroughly research before installation and be prepared for potential issues.
Intuitive Shipping is the clear choice for established businesses with complex shipping requirements, and those who value a branded customer experience. Its strong rating, abundant positive reviews, and comprehensive feature set demonstrate a reliable and robust solution. While it may require more setup and configuration than Amai COD, the benefits of granular control, advanced features, and dedicated support make it worthwhile for merchants who prioritize a sophisticated shipping strategy.
Common Questions
What are the key differences in features between Amai COD and Intuitive Shipping?
Amai COD likely only enables Cash on Delivery payments. Intuitive Shipping provides a wide range of features including customizable shipping conditions, granular pricing controls, checkout branding, dimensional rates, and personalized support.
Which app is better for a small, new Shopify store?
If a new store *only* needs Cash on Delivery, Amai COD might suffice, but the low rating is concerning. Intuitive Shipping would be overkill at this early stage, unless shipping complexity is present from day one.
Which app is better for a store with international shipping?
Intuitive Shipping is undoubtedly better for a store with international shipping. Its flexible conditions and granular pricing options allow for accurate rate calculations and the ability to manage complex international shipping rules. Amai COD likely does not address the complexities of international shipping.
Is Intuitive Shipping easy to set up and use?
The description implies that Intuitive Shipping requires onboarding and configuration with their team, suggesting it may not be as straightforward as a simple app. However, the inclusion of human support indicates that assistance is available to guide users through the process, making potentially complex setup processes easier to handle.
Are there any hidden costs with Intuitive Shipping?
The description states that every plan includes the full feature set and configuration is free. However, merchants should confirm the pricing structure to understand the plan costs and any potential overage fees based on usage or sales volume.
