Our Verdict
For merchants simply needing to offer Cash on Delivery, and who are concerned with budget, Amai COD might suffice, but the extremely limited review count is a significant cause for concern. However, its 3.1 rating, along with only two reviews, makes it very hard to trust this app in 2026. ShipX is the clear winner for businesses requiring robust shipping rate calculations and management. Its high rating and substantial review count provide confidence in its performance. While it likely comes at a higher cost and requires technical know-how for setup (requiring the Shopify's Carrier Calculated Shipping API), the advanced features and positive user feedback justify the investment for qualifying merchants. Consider ShipX if you have drop shipping, complex locations or products, or shipping rates that need to be tailored.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Amai COD is likely easier to set up due to its simpler function. However, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess usability. ShipX, given its advanced features, will likely have a steeper learning curve, but its high rating suggests a well-designed interface.
Does Amai COD integrate with shipping carriers?
Based on the information provided, Amai COD's integration capabilities are unknown. It focuses on payment collection method, not shipping management itself.
Is ShipX suitable for small businesses with basic shipping needs?
ShipX *can* work for small businesses, but its features are likely overkill if shipping is straightforward (e.g., flat rate, local delivery). Evaluate if its advanced features justify its potential cost and complexity, relative to a simpler, potentially cheaper solution.
What happens if I need to calculate shipping rates based on product dimensions with Amai COD?
Amai COD does not provide shipping rate calculation features based on product dimensions. You'll need a separate shipping calculator or handle shipping costs manually.
Which app is more reliable in 2026?
ShipX is likely more reliable due to its vastly superior rating and review count. The higher volume of reviews provide a more robust assessment of its performance over time, as compared to Amai COD, which has only two reviews.
