Amazon Importer Spreadr App vs Store Migrationfor Shopify (2026)
The Amazon Importer Spreadr App and Shopify's Store Migration app serve fundamentally different purposes for Shopify merchants. The Amazon Importer Spreadr App is designed to help merchants easily import products from Amazon into their Shopify stores, enabling them to either dropship Amazon products or earn affiliate commissions. It focuses on expanding a store's catalog with Amazon's offerings, providing features like one-click product import, auto-sync of price and availability, and options for either directing customers to Amazon or fulfilling orders themselves. Its target audience is merchants looking to diversify their product selection, leverage Amazon's inventory, and either earn commission or directly profit through dropshipping. In contrast, the Store Migration app is designed to assist merchants who are transitioning their entire store from another platform (like Square, WooCommerce, Etsy, etc.) to Shopify. It aims to facilitate the transfer of existing product and customer data to the Shopify platform. The target merchant is one who is migrating their entire business over to Shopify, not simply adding new products from another source. While both apps are listed under the 'Selling online' and 'Store data importer' Shopify categories, they address distinctly different challenges and cater to different needs within the e-commerce ecosystem.

Our Verdict
The Amazon Importer Spreadr App is ideal for existing Shopify store owners who want to expand their product catalog by leveraging Amazon's vast selection, and who are interested in dropshipping or affiliate marketing. The high rating and large number of reviews indicate a generally positive user experience.
The Store Migration app is best suited for merchants who are currently using a different e-commerce platform and want to move their entire store to Shopify. While the rating is lower and the number of reviews is minimal, this app addresses a critical need for platform migration, which is a one-time event. Merchants should carefully assess the supported platforms and data compatibility before using this app.
Common Questions
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, but they serve different purposes. The Amazon Importer Spreadr App adds Amazon products to your existing Shopify store, while the Store Migration app helps you move data from another platform *to* Shopify. You'd use Store Migration once, then Amazon Importer Spreadr as needed.
Which app is easier to use?
The Amazon Importer Spreadr App appears to be easier to use for its specific purpose, with its 1-click import and auto-sync features. Store Migration requires connecting to other platforms or uploading CSVs, which can be more complex and require adjustments.
What kind of support do these apps provide?
The app descriptions don't explicitly state the type of support offered, but a higher rating with a significant number of reviews (like Amazon Importer Spreadr App) often suggests that the level of customer support is adequate and meets the users' expectations. Store Migration, on the other hand, may require more hands-on configuration from the merchant, and its scant review count means nothing can be inferred.
Which app is better for building a new store?
If you are starting a new store and want to focus on Amazon products, the Amazon Importer Spreadr App can help you quickly populate your store. If you are starting a new store on Shopify *from scratch* with no existing data elsewhere, the Store Migration App is not relevant.
Which app involves ongoing management?
The Amazon Importer Spreadr App will involve ongoing management to monitor pricing, availability, and order fulfillment (if dropshipping). The Store Migration app is primarily a one-time use tool.
