Amhook vs TrustKit: Trust Badges & Iconsfor Shopify (2026)
Amhook and TrustKit: Trust Badges & Icons offer distinctly different approaches to improving a Shopify store's performance. Amhook, presented in French, aims to understand and address customer objections to purchase, positioning itself as a tool to improve customer understanding and strengthen FAQ capabilities. It focuses on enabling customers to ask questions about products and displaying those Q&As on the site. TrustKit, on the other hand, focuses on building trust and reducing cart abandonment by displaying customizable trust badges and icons like SSL Secure and Satisfaction Guarantee. It targets a broader audience looking for a quick and easy solution to improve perceived security and confidence. The key difference lies in their approaches. Amhook is problem-focused, aiming to diagnose why customers are not buying, while TrustKit is solution-focused, directly addressing perceived security concerns with visual cues. Amhook might be useful for stores experiencing a high bounce rate due to unanswered questions. TrustKit is a better fit for stores looking for a quick boost in trust indicators, particularly useful during checkout. Both apps fall under the 'Social trust - Other' Shopify category but tackle trust from different angles.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Amhook and TrustKit depends on the specific challenges faced by your Shopify store. If you suspect that unanswered questions and a lack of clarity about your products are the primary drivers of cart abandonment, Amhook, despite its lack of reviews, might be worth exploring, assuming you can work with a French-language interface. However, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to build trust and address security concerns, especially if you're a new merchant, TrustKit is the clear winner, providing a readily available solution with positive initial feedback.
Given the lack of reviews for Amhook and the positive review for TrustKit, along with TrustKit's simpler implementation and broader appeal, TrustKit is generally the safer and more recommended choice for most Shopify merchants. Only merchants with a very specific need to address customer questions and a comfort level with a French interface should seriously consider Amhook.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, TrustKit appears easier to set up due to its 'no-code customization' and 'simple integration'.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
TrustKit is likely better for a new store as it directly addresses a common concern (trust) with a simple and readily available solution.
Which app requires more ongoing maintenance?
Amhook likely requires more maintenance as you need to actively monitor and answer customer questions. TrustKit is more of a 'set it and forget it' solution after initial configuration.
If my store already has a comprehensive FAQ, do I need Amhook?
If your FAQ is truly comprehensive and effectively addresses customer concerns, Amhook may not be necessary. Amhook is most useful when your existing FAQ is insufficient.
Does either app directly integrate with payment gateways?
Neither app description mentions direct integration with payment gateways. TrustKit displays payment icons, but the integration is likely visual, not functional.
