Amote: Cart Upsell Cart Drawer vs EG Auto Add to Cart Free Giftfor Shopify (2026)
Amote: Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift are both Shopify apps designed to increase average order value (AOV) through upselling and cross-selling strategies, but they take different approaches. Amote offers a broader suite of features centered around cart customization and optimization, including cart drawer upsells, progress bar rewards, add-on services (like shipping protection), and conversion-boosting elements such as scarcity timers. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift, on the other hand, focuses primarily on automated free gift and BOGO/Buy X Get Y offers, triggered by specific rules based on cart contents or value. This core focus makes it a streamlined solution for merchants specifically looking to implement these types of promotional offers. Amote targets merchants looking for a comprehensive cart optimization solution, providing various ways to enhance the shopping experience and drive AOV. Its AI product info block and sticky add-to-cart features aim to improve user engagement. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift appears more suited for merchants seeking a simple, rule-based system for automating free gift and BOGO promotions. The apps share the Discounts category in Shopify, and are both positioned as mechanisms to boost sales via incentives, but their feature sets and complexities clearly delineate their target user groups. EG Auto Add to Cart Free Gift with its 5-star rating and significant volume of reviews (762) also indicates a higher degree of merchant adoption and perhaps easier usability, despite Amote's feature richness.
