AMP by Webkul vs MP ‑ Website Speedyfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, merchants choosing a site optimization app face a clear choice between AMP by Webkul and MP ‑ Website Speedy. AMP by Webkul focuses solely on implementing Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) to improve mobile search ranking, targeting merchants primarily concerned with SEO through this specific technology. Its stated value proposition centers around faster mobile loading times and improved click-through rates from search results. However, a significant drawback is the complete absence of reviews, indicating a lack of user validation. MP ‑ Website Speedy, in contrast, takes a more holistic approach to website speed optimization, addressing both mobile and desktop performance. It uses a range of techniques like asynchronous loading and lazy loading to enhance core web vitals and improve overall site performance. MP ‑ Website Speedy aims to provide a broader suite of benefits, including improved SEO, ad ROI, and conversion rates. The app's 5/5 rating with 9 reviews suggests a positive user experience and reliable performance, contrasting sharply with AMP by Webkul's unproven status.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, MP ‑ Website Speedy appears to be the safer and more comprehensive choice. Its positive user reviews and wider range of optimization techniques suggest a more reliable and effective solution for improving overall website performance and achieving business goals. The focus on improving core web vitals offers a broader and more adaptable approach to site speed optimization compared to the more limited AMP strategy.
However, if a merchant is specifically targeting the benefits of AMP for mobile SEO and is comfortable taking a risk on an unproven app, AMP by Webkul could be considered. This is only recommended if they possess the technical expertise to independently verify and troubleshoot the app's implementation. The lack of reviews makes it difficult to recommend AMP by Webkul broadly.
