AMP ‑ Product Descriptions vs Kiwi Size Chart & Recommenderfor Shopify (2026)
AMP ‑ Product Descriptions and Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender both enhance the product display on Shopify stores, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. AMP - Product Descriptions focuses on improving the organization and readability of product information using accordion tabs, benefiting stores with detailed product specifications or complex product descriptions. It aims to increase conversion rates and improve SEO by making product information more accessible. Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender, on the other hand, concentrates on solving sizing issues, particularly crucial for apparel, accessories, and other size-dependent products. It offers size charts, size guides, and AI-powered recommendations to reduce returns and increase sales by helping customers choose the right size. The key difference lies in their problem-solving approach. AMP aims to improve the way information is presented, while Kiwi tackles the specific challenge of sizing uncertainty. While both improve the overall customer experience, AMP is best suited for stores that need to present a large amount of information in a structured way, while Kiwi is essential for stores selling products where size is a significant factor in the purchase decision. The vastly different number of reviews also suggests that Kiwi addresses a more widespread need among Shopify merchants, indicating a broader market appeal. Although AMP has a slightly higher rating, the low review count could mean it's a newer app or caters to a more niche market.

Our Verdict
If you are selling clothing, shoes, or other items where size is critical, Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender is the clear choice. Its focus on size accuracy directly addresses a major pain point for customers and retailers alike. The high number of reviews suggests widespread adoption and satisfaction. However, if your products require extensive descriptions or specifications and you want to present this information in a clean and organized way, AMP ‑ Product Descriptions is more suitable. It excels at structuring product details to improve user experience and SEO.
In short, Kiwi targets the issue of sizing, making it a must-have for certain stores, while AMP enhances product presentation for all types of products. It really depends on which problem is most pressing for your store. For stores with complex product information AND sized items, using BOTH apps could provide a comprehensive solution.
Common Questions
Can both apps be used on the same Shopify store?
Yes, both apps can be used together. AMP ‑ Product Descriptions focuses on organizing information, while Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender focuses on sizing. They address different aspects of the customer experience and can complement each other.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
AMP - Product Descriptions claims to require no coding, which suggests a very simple installation. Kiwi offers several ways to populate size charts, including imports, so may require slightly more initial work, but is still likely to be user-friendly.
Which app is better for SEO?
AMP ‑ Product Descriptions explicitly mentions SEO benefits as a key feature due to its ability to make product information more accessible to search engines. Kiwi doesn't directly address SEO, but indirectly improves it by reducing returns (which can negatively impact store ranking).
Which app is more expensive?
Pricing information is not provided, so a price comparison is impossible. Merchants should investigate the pricing plans of both apps to determine which offers the best value for their specific needs.
If I only sell digital products, which app is better?
AMP ‑ Product Descriptions would be more beneficial for digital products if they have detailed specifications or instructions that need to be organized. Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender is irrelevant for digital products as sizing is not applicable.
