AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer vs Checkout Plusfor Shopify (2026)
AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, with a perfect 5/5 rating based on a substantial 489 reviews, primarily focuses on enhancing the pre-checkout experience by optimizing the cart drawer functionality. It likely streamlines the user journey right before the checkout process. Checkout Plus, on the other hand, although having a slightly lower rating of 4.8/5 with 52 reviews, takes a more comprehensive approach by targeting the entire checkout flow, from the checkout page itself to the thank you and order status pages. It aims to boost conversions through upsells, social proof, trust-building elements, and information collection. The significant difference lies in their scope. AMP targets the cart, while Checkout Plus optimizes the entire checkout process and post-purchase experience. Checkout Plus is more concerned with advanced customization and data collection whereas AMP seems to focus solely on optimizing the user experience and speed of navigating the cart. Checkout Plus's feature set indicates a focus on increasing average order value and customer retention, making it suitable for merchants looking to deeply customize their checkout experience for specific business goals. The large difference in the number of reviews indicates AMP is the more popular app, or has been around longer, or both.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to enhance the cart drawer experience for your customers, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer is likely the better choice. It offers a seemingly simple solution with an excellent track record based on a large number of reviews. However, if you are looking to significantly customize the entire checkout flow, experiment with upsells, add social proof, collect more data, and optimize the post-purchase experience, Checkout Plus provides a much wider range of functionalities.
For smaller stores or those with less technical expertise, AMP's simplicity might be preferable. Larger stores with higher transaction volumes and a need for granular control over the checkout process will likely find Checkout Plus a more powerful, albeit possibly more complex, tool to implement.
