AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer vs Express Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer and Express Checkout are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the Checkout category, but they serve very different purposes and target distinct merchant needs. AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer likely enhances the user experience by improving the cart functionality with a slide-out drawer. Based on its name and common slide cart drawer features, it probably focuses on increasing conversions by providing a more intuitive and easily accessible cart. Express Checkout, on the other hand, directly addresses checkout optimization by enabling merchants to customize payment options. Express Checkout is explicitly tailored for South African Shopify merchants aiming to streamline their checkout process by reordering, renaming, and hiding payment providers. This allows for a customized payment flow that better aligns with customer expectations in the South African market. While both apps aim to improve the checkout experience, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer focuses on enhancing the cart interface, while Express Checkout concentrates on optimizing payment options specifically for South African merchants.

Our Verdict
For general Shopify merchants seeking to improve their cart experience and potentially boost conversions, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer is likely the better choice, especially given its significantly larger number of reviews. Its focus is on improving the user interface of the cart itself.
However, for South African Shopify merchants who need to customize their payment options to cater to local customer preferences and streamline their checkout process, Express Checkout is the clear winner. It provides specific tools for reordering, renaming, and hiding payment providers, allowing for a highly tailored checkout experience. The low review count is a consideration, but the focused functionality makes it invaluable for its target audience.
Common Questions
