AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer vs Robust Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer and Robust Checkout both operate within the Checkout category on Shopify, but they address vastly different needs and stages of the customer journey. AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, implied by its name and high review count, likely focuses on improving the pre-checkout experience by enhancing the cart drawer functionality. This would target merchants looking to increase conversions by streamlining the path to purchase and improving the cart interface. Robust Checkout, on the other hand, concentrates on post-purchase customization, specifically the thank you and order status pages, indicating a strategy to boost customer engagement and brand messaging *after* the sale has been made. The massive difference in review count – 489 for AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer versus only 3 for Robust Checkout – suggests AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer is a more established and widely adopted solution. Robust Checkout, however, appears to cater to merchants with more advanced needs, especially those looking to leverage the newer checkout extensibility features offered by Shopify. Its focus is on personalization through conditional banners, social media integration, and other content displayed on thank you and order status pages, aiming to cultivate stronger customer relationships and potentially drive repeat business.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with optimizing the cart-to-checkout flow, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer is likely the better option, given its established user base and presumed focus on enhancing the cart experience. The sheer volume of positive reviews suggests a reliable and effective solution for improving cart conversions. On the other hand, if the priority is to cultivate customer relationships and brand loyalty after the sale is complete, especially by personalizing the thank you and order status pages and leveraging the newer Shopify Checkout Extensibility features, then Robust Checkout would be more suitable. However, the low number of reviews warrants caution and thorough testing.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's strategic goals. If the cart experience is already optimized, and the focus is on retaining and engaging customers after the purchase, Robust Checkout offers targeted features for post-purchase branding. Otherwise, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer likely provides a more proven and accessible solution for boosting conversion rates through cart optimization.
