AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer vs Yagi Express Payment Hiderfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, merchants choosing between AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer and Yagi Express Payment Hider face a trade-off between cart functionality and checkout optimization. AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating from a substantial 489 reviews, likely focuses on improving the shopping cart experience, possibly enhancing visual appeal and ease of access to the cart itself. Its high review count suggests widespread adoption and satisfaction. Conversely, Yagi Express Payment Hider, with a 4.9/5 rating from 19 reviews, directly targets checkout abandonment by hiding express checkout options in the initial checkout step, aiming to present a wider range of payment choices to customers before they potentially bounce. The key difference lies in their core purpose. AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer likely aims to increase sales by making the cart more accessible and user-friendly, thereby encouraging more purchases. Yagi Express Payment Hider, on the other hand, focuses on reducing checkout abandonment by manipulating the payment options displayed early in the checkout process. Therefore, the best choice depends on whether the merchant needs to improve the general shopping cart experience or address specific concerns about perceived limited payment options during checkout. The use of Shopify Functions in Yagi Express Payment Hider suggests a modern and potentially less intrusive implementation. The choice also depends on the risk tolerance of the merchant. The AMP app has been used by a large number of users with positive feedback. Yagi, although similarly rated, has a much smaller sample size and might involve an untested, niche use case.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on boosting overall conversions and providing a seamless cart experience, AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer is the stronger choice, given its higher adoption rate and consistently positive reviews. Its potential for broader impact on the entire shopping journey makes it a valuable asset.
However, if checkout abandonment due to perceived limited payment options is a specific and measurable problem, Yagi Express Payment Hider offers a targeted solution. Merchants who observe customer hesitation or exit during the initial checkout step, especially those using express checkout methods, should consider Yagi. Before installing, it would be prudent to analyze checkout abandonment data to confirm the issue is directly tied to the visibility of express checkout options.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Without further information about AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, it's difficult to say definitively. However, Yagi Express Payment Hider's claim of using Shopify Functions suggests a modern implementation that might be less intrusive and potentially easier to configure than older, more complex apps. AMP's high adoption suggests it is relatively easy to set up too.
Does either app directly increase average order value?
Neither app explicitly claims to increase average order value. AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer may indirectly contribute by making it easier to add more items to the cart. Yagi Express Payment Hider focuses on preventing lost sales, not necessarily increasing order value.
Which app is more likely to conflict with existing Shopify themes?
Yagi Express Payment Hider claims to be built using Shopify Functions, suggesting minimal impact on the existing store layout. Without knowing the implementation details of AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, it's harder to assess its potential for theme conflicts. It's advisable to back up your theme before installing either app.
What data should I track *before* installing either app?
Before installing AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer, track cart abandonment rate and conversion rates. Before installing Yagi Express Payment Hider, track checkout abandonment rates specifically at the initial checkout information step, and note if there is a correlation with customers being presented with express checkout options early.
Is Yagi Express Payment Hider considered a dark pattern?
The ethicality depends on its implementation. Hiding payment options to present *more* options (including conventional ones) isn't inherently unethical, as long as all available options are clearly presented later in the checkout process. If the intention is to mislead customers or make certain payment methods artificially difficult to access, then it would be considered a dark pattern.
