Amphora | Pick, Pack and Ship vs MS Barcode Labels & Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
Amphora | Pick, Pack and Ship and MS Barcode Labels & Generator, while sharing categories like 'Selling in person' and 'SKU and barcodes' on the Shopify app store, cater to vastly different needs and merchant profiles. Amphora focuses on providing a complete outsourced logistics solution, emphasizing warehousing, order fulfillment, and real-time tracking through its 'Atenea' suite and international warehouse network. Its value proposition lies in streamlining logistics, improving customer experience, and enabling scalable growth by externalizing complex operations. In contrast, MS Barcode Labels & Generator empowers merchants to manage their barcode and SKU generation, label design, and printing processes in-house, directly from their Shopify store or integrated with Stocky. MS Barcode Labels & Generator excels in providing tools for creating and printing custom barcode labels, integrating directly with Shopify and Stocky for streamlined operations. It's designed for merchants seeking control over their product labeling, SKU creation, and in-person sales processes. The significant number of positive reviews (168 with a 5/5 rating) suggests a user-friendly and effective solution for barcode management. Amphora, with no reviews, presents a higher risk, and is geared towards a merchant seeking a fully managed 3PL service rather than an in-house solution. Their value proposition is scalability via outsourcing logistics. The stark difference in their ratings and the absence of user reviews for Amphora highlight the contrasting risk profiles associated with each app. MS Barcode Labels & Generator enjoys considerable social proof, indicating reliability and effectiveness, while Amphora remains an unproven option within the Shopify ecosystem, at least in terms of verifiable user experience.

Our Verdict
MS Barcode Labels & Generator is the clear choice for Shopify merchants who want to create and manage their own barcode labels and SKUs within their existing Shopify workflows. Its positive reviews and direct integration with Stocky make it a reliable and user-friendly option. It is ideal for businesses that want direct control over their product labeling and pricing. Amphora | Pick, Pack and Ship caters to a completely different need: merchants who want to outsource their entire logistics operation, from warehousing to shipping. However, its lack of reviews makes it a riskier choice. If a merchant seeks a full logistics solution including warehouses and fullfillment, and has budget, further research into Amphora is warranted.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the review data, MS Barcode Labels & Generator is likely easier to set up and use due to its drag-and-drop label design, direct Shopify integration, and numerous positive user reviews praising its usability. Amphora's complexity is tied to a full 3PL solution and might require extensive coordination.
Which app is more cost-effective?
MS Barcode Labels & Generator likely offers a more cost-effective solution for merchants who want to manage their own labeling and SKUs. Outsourcing to a 3PL like Amphora will come with warehousing and shipping costs that need to be weighed against the internal labor and material costs if managed in-house.
Which app is better for international expansion?
Amphora is specifically positioned for international expansion, leveraging its strategically located warehouses in Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States. MS Barcode Labels & Generator can still be used for products sold internationally, but does not offer international logistics support.
Do either of these apps integrate with other popular Shopify apps besides Stocky?
MS Barcode Labels & Generator specifically mentions integration with Stocky. Amphora refers to their 'Atenea' suite, but additional integrations are not listed, suggesting it may function as a standalone logistics management tool connected to Shopify.
What are the main risks of choosing Amphora | Pick, Pack and Ship?
The main risks of choosing Amphora include the lack of user reviews, making it difficult to assess its reliability and effectiveness. It requires trusting a new service with potentially complex integration and a significant reliance on the quality and stability of their Atenea suite. Merchants should be prepared for careful due diligence.
