Angle: Store Credit Cashback vs MP Digital Downloadsfor Shopify (2026)
Angle: Store Credit Cashback and MP Digital Downloads cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem, despite sharing the 'Digital goods and services - Other' category. Angle focuses on building sophisticated loyalty programs using store credit for established Shopify Plus brands, particularly those in Streetwear, Apparel/Footwear, Beauty, Wine, CPG, and Outdoor sectors. Its core strength lies in its comprehensive loyalty infrastructure, offering features like wallet passes, tiered rewards, event-based incentives, cashback options, and native push notifications. The app aims to create a unified online and offline customer experience with Starbucks-level POS identity, eliminating the need for separate loyalty apps. In contrast, MP Digital Downloads targets merchants selling digital products like eBooks, PDFs, videos, software, or license keys. Its primary focus is on providing instant and secure delivery of these digital assets post-checkout. MP Digital Downloads emphasizes ease of use with no-code implementation and automated delivery using protected download links. It offers features like setting time or usage limits for file protection, supporting unlimited products and file types, and providing built-in analytics to track downloads and customer behavior. Thus, its value proposition is efficient digital product delivery and security, rather than customer loyalty.

Our Verdict
For established Shopify Plus brands seeking to build sophisticated, integrated loyalty programs with a focus on both online and offline experiences, Angle: Store Credit Cashback is the clear choice. Its robust feature set, including wallet passes and POS integration, offers a comprehensive solution. However, the lack of substantial review data is a concern.
If your primary need is to efficiently and securely deliver digital products after purchase, MP Digital Downloads is the better option. Its no-code setup and focus on delivery automation make it suitable for a wider range of merchants, especially those new to selling digital goods. The absence of reviews makes assessing reliability difficult, but the focused feature set indicates a simpler, more direct approach.
