AnyAsset ‑ Digital Downloads vs OPTIS Product Options, Variantfor Shopify (2026)
AnyAsset ‑ Digital Downloads and OPTIS Product Options, Variant are both Shopify apps with perfect 5/5 ratings, but cater to drastically different needs. AnyAsset focuses exclusively on digital product delivery, providing robust features for managing and distributing downloadable files like software, music, ebooks, and videos. It emphasizes large file support (up to 1.5GB), custom asset assignment after order, and download limitations. OPTIS Product Options, Variant, judging by the similar categories is primarily intended for improving and enabling custom file upload options. AnyAsset appears targeted toward merchants whose core business revolves around selling digital assets, requiring features like bulk uploading, specific file type support (40+), and control over download access. OPTIS likely targets a broader audience, perhaps enabling product customization through file uploads, without the specific download management and large file handling capabilities AnyAsset provides. The significant disparity in review count suggests OPTIS has a much larger user base, implying broader applicability, while AnyAsset might be a niche solution.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily selling digital downloads and requiring granular control over access, file management, and delivery, AnyAsset is the clear choice, offering features specifically tailored to this need. Its large file support and custom asset assignment provide a focused solution.
However, if the primary goal is to offer customers file upload options as part of a broader product customization process, and download management isn't a central concern, then OPTIS is more appropriate. The vastly larger number of reviews suggests it is a well-established and versatile product option app with presumably broader applicability. It may not be as specifically optimized for digital download management as AnyAsset.
