AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell vs Buy Button channelfor Shopify (2026)
AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell and Buy Button channel both aim to increase sales for Shopify merchants, but they approach this goal from fundamentally different angles. AOV.ai focuses on maximizing Average Order Value (AOV) by offering one-click upsells and downsells after the initial purchase, leveraging post-purchase pages (thank you and order status). It targets merchants looking to optimize their existing checkout flow and extract more value from each customer. In contrast, Buy Button channel focuses on enabling sales outside of the Shopify store environment by creating embedded 'Buy Now' buttons and direct checkout links for websites, blogs, and social media, targeting merchants who want to expand their sales channels beyond their Shopify storefront and reach customers where they already are.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily focused on optimizing their existing store's checkout process and increasing AOV, AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell is the clear choice. Its one-click upsells, AI-powered templates, and focus on personalization make it well-suited for maximizing the value of each customer. However, if a merchant's priority is expanding sales channels beyond their Shopify store and reaching customers on external websites, blogs, or social media platforms, Buy Button channel offers a more direct and effective solution, despite its lower rating and need for HTML code integration.
