Appointment Booking App Apntly vs Digify ‑ Digital Downloadsfor Shopify (2026)
Appointment Booking App Apntly and Digify ‑ Digital Downloads cater to fundamentally different needs on Shopify. Apntly focuses on facilitating appointment and event scheduling, transforming physical or digital services into bookable offerings. It boasts a strong reputation indicated by a perfect 5/5 rating and a large number of reviews (1170), suggesting established reliability and user satisfaction. It integrates with calendars and Zoom, provides team management features, and supports deposits, making it ideal for businesses that rely on scheduled interactions with customers. In contrast, Digify ‑ Digital Downloads is designed for merchants who sell digital products directly. It automates the delivery of digital files like eBooks, music, or software immediately after purchase. Despite its current lack of ratings and reviews (0/5, 0 reviews), it focuses on secure and instant delivery of digital assets, offering features like download limits, expiry dates, and file management. This app streamlines the process for creators and businesses looking to distribute digital content efficiently. The key differentiator lies in their core function: Apntly manages time and schedules, while Digify manages files and digital asset delivery. While both apps can technically be categorized under 'Digital Products' on Shopify, they cater to entirely different aspects of that category – services that result in a scheduled appointment (Apntly) versus immediately downloadable files (Digify).

Our Verdict
The choice between Appointment Booking App Apntly and Digify ‑ Digital Downloads hinges entirely on the type of product or service being offered. If you are selling a service that requires scheduling, such as consultations, workshops, or classes, Apntly is the clear choice due to its robust appointment booking features, calendar integrations, and team management capabilities. The high rating and substantial number of positive reviews further solidify its reliability.
Conversely, if you're selling downloadable digital assets like eBooks, music, software, or templates, Digify ‑ Digital Downloads is the more appropriate solution. While it currently lacks reviews, its focus on instant and secure digital file delivery, download limits, and expiry dates directly addresses the needs of digital product sellers. If you need to automatically deliver files after purchase, Digify is essential.
Common Questions
Which app is better for selling online courses?
If the online course is delivered live or requires scheduled sessions, Apntly is better for managing bookings. If it's a pre-recorded course with downloadable materials, Digify might be used for delivering those materials, but a dedicated course platform might be a better overall solution.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but only if your store sells both bookable services and downloadable products. There's no inherent conflict in using both, but they address different aspects of your business.
Does Apntly handle payment processing?
Apntly facilitates deposits, but the full payment processing is still handled through Shopify's standard checkout.
What if I sell digital products that are linked to scheduled coaching calls? Which app should I choose?
In this scenario, using a combination of both apps or seeking an all-in-one solution would be ideal. Use Digify to deliver the product and Apntly to schedule the related coaching calls.
Is Digify suitable for selling software licenses?
Yes, Digify's ability to deliver files and set expiry dates makes it suitable for selling software licenses and keys. This feature is explicitly mentioned in the description.
