Appointment Booking App Apntly vs Digital Downloadsfor Shopify (2026)
Appointment Booking App Apntly and Digital Downloads are both Shopify apps categorized under "Digital products," but they serve vastly different purposes and target distinct merchant types. Apntly focuses on enabling merchants to offer appointments, events, and services bookable directly through their Shopify store, essentially turning products into bookable offerings similar to Calendly. Digital Downloads, conversely, provides a straightforward solution for selling digital files such as e-books, digital art, and other downloadable content. The most striking difference lies in their functionality: one deals with scheduling and time management, while the other focuses on the distribution and management of digital assets.

Our Verdict
Apntly is the clear choice for businesses needing to schedule appointments, events, or services. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest strong user satisfaction with its booking features, calendar integrations, and team member support. The integrated Zoom functionality gives it an edge for online service providers. Digital Downloads, with its lower rating, might be suitable for merchants with very basic digital file sales needs, but the user feedback suggests potential issues to consider. Merchants looking for a robust digital download solution may want to explore alternatives with higher ratings and more recent reviews.
