Our Verdict
The choice between Apntly and LDT Digital Downloads hinges entirely on the merchant's business model. If a merchant sells services, appointments, or events that require scheduling, Apntly is the clear choice due to its booking automation, calendar integrations, and team member support. However, if the merchant sells digital goods such as ebooks, software, or music, then LDT Digital Downloads is the superior option, providing the necessary features for secure delivery, content protection, and a user-friendly download experience. While Apntly has a slightly higher rating and significantly more reviews, these metrics are secondary to the fundamental difference in functionality; a service-based business has no need for LDT's file security features, and vice-versa.
Common Questions
Can I use Apntly to sell digital downloads?
Apntly is primarily designed for booking appointments and services. While you might be able to attach a file as part of the appointment confirmation, it lacks the robust security features and download portal that LDT Digital Downloads offers for selling digital products.
Can I use LDT Digital Downloads to manage appointments?
No, LDT Digital Downloads is specifically built for selling and delivering digital files. It does not have any appointment booking or scheduling functionality.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be user-friendly. Apntly emphasizes a 3-step setup, while LDT highlights its easy navigation. Ease of setup is subjective and depends on the merchant's familiarity with each type of system. However, a digital download store might have more steps in setting up individual product downloads than setting up a service, so Apntly could potentially be faster to initially configure. Further testing may be required for your specific situation.
Which app has better customer support?
The provided data does not contain information about the quality of customer support for either app. Check recent reviews and the developers' websites for more information on support channels and response times.
