Appointment Booking App Propel vs Courses Plusfor Shopify (2026)
Appointment Booking App Propel and Courses Plus both leverage the 'Digital products' Shopify category, but cater to fundamentally different needs. Propel focuses on streamlining appointment booking for services, events, and classes, akin to Calendly within the Shopify ecosystem. It aims to simplify the scheduling process, reduce no-shows, and enhance organization for merchants offering time-based services. In contrast, Courses Plus empowers merchants to create and sell online courses and digital products directly through their Shopify store, tapping into the eLearning market. Its emphasis is on knowledge monetization through structured educational content, quizzes, and progress tracking. Propel's strength lies in its ease of use for booking appointments, mobile-first design, and integrations with Zoom and Google Calendar. This makes it ideal for businesses like salons, consultants, and event organizers. Courses Plus excels in building and delivering educational content, offering features like AI-powered quiz creation, PDF certificates, and subscription models. This positions it as a strong contender for educators, coaches, and content creators looking to establish a direct-to-consumer learning platform on Shopify.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily offering services or managing events that require appointment scheduling, Appointment Booking App Propel is the clear choice. Its robust booking features, integrations, and focus on reducing no-shows directly address the pain points of service-based businesses. Courses Plus, however, is the superior option for businesses looking to create and sell structured online courses, coaching programs, or digital learning products. Its features for course creation, student progress tracking, and certification offer a comprehensive solution for building an online learning platform. While both apps technically fall under the 'Digital Products' category, their core functionalities cater to distinct business models and merchant needs.
