Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! vs Giveaway Gatorfor Shopify (2026)
Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! and Giveaway Gator both aim to boost sales and engagement through contests and giveaways, but they take very different approaches. Apps Mav focuses on a gamified, instant-win experience using scratch cards to incentivize email sign-ups, referral traffic, and repeat visits. Its target audience seems to be merchants seeking rapid list growth and immediate sales boosts through fun, engaging promotions. Giveaway Gator, on the other hand, offers a more structured and automated approach to managing complex sweepstakes and giveaways, with a focus on increasing average order value (AOV) and retaining margin. The key difference lies in their core mechanics and target use cases. Apps Mav prioritizes quick lead generation and instant gratification, while Giveaway Gator emphasizes long-term engagement and strategic sales incentives. Apps Mav's features like automatic coupons and refer-to-play indicate a focus on viral marketing and immediate conversions. Giveaway Gator's strength lies in its ability to manage multiple concurrent giveaways with sophisticated features like bonus entries, order multipliers, and integration with Shopify Flow, making it suitable for merchants looking to run data-driven, highly customized giveaway campaigns. The social proof and features also present a significant difference. The vastly different review count and rating need consideration when evaluating the two apps. Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN!, despite having more reviews, has a lower rating (2.9/5) compared to Giveaway Gator which has a perfect rating (5/5). The very low number of reviews for both apps in 2026 necessitates a cautious approach to interpreting the ratings; the rating may not yet be representative of a mature app with a substantial user base.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing rapid list growth and a fun, engaging experience to generate immediate sales, Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! might be the better choice, despite the lower rating. Its gamified approach and pre-built templates offer a potentially quicker and easier setup. However, the low rating should prompt further investigation.
Giveaway Gator is the more suitable option for merchants who need a robust and automated system to manage complex sweepstakes and giveaways, particularly if they are focused on increasing AOV and retaining margin. Its advanced features, such as entry-only discount codes and order multipliers, offer more strategic control over sales incentives. However, the reviews, though positive, are based on a very small number of users.
