Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! vs ProveSource: Sales Pop Upsfor Shopify (2026)
Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! and ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups both operate within the pop-up category on Shopify, but cater to very different merchant needs and employ vastly different strategies. Apps Mav focuses on gamification through scratch card promotions designed to rapidly grow email lists, sales, and referral traffic. Its strength lies in its interactive and potentially viral nature, making it suitable for merchants aiming for quick, engaging customer acquisition, especially during seasonal peaks like the Holiday Season. However, its very low rating compared to its competitor is a red flag. ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups, on the other hand, leverages social proof and urgency through sales notification pop-ups to build trust and encourage conversions. Its significantly higher rating and review count suggest a more reliable and widely accepted solution. ProveSource is better suited for merchants seeking to subtly influence customer behavior by showcasing recent sales and activity, creating a sense of momentum and trustworthiness around their brand. Therefore, despite being in the same category, they serve very different purposes and target different aspects of customer psychology.

Our Verdict
ProveSource: Sales Pop Ups is the clear choice for most merchants in 2026. The overwhelmingly positive reviews and established social proof strategy make it a safer and more reliable option for driving conversions. Its 'always-on' nature integrates seamlessly into the customer experience. Apps Mav: Scratch and WIN! might be considered only by merchants with a very specific need for gamified lead generation, particularly during promotional periods, and who are willing to overlook the app's low rating and limited user feedback. However, those merchants should carefully analyze the negative feedback from the current users to determine if the issues are dealbreakers.
