Our Verdict
AppsByB: Backup & Restore is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing data security and efficient management of multiple Shopify stores. Its backup and sync capabilities provide peace of mind against data loss and streamline operations across environments. CaseMate ‑ Case Sensitivity addresses a more niche problem: inconsistent case formatting. While this is a legitimate issue, especially for stores dealing with a high volume of orders, the lack of reviews and zero rating suggest caution. Unless address formatting is a significant and demonstrable pain point, AppsByB offers a more broadly applicable value proposition.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, both apps aim for simplicity. AppsByB emphasizes scheduled backups, suggesting a 'set it and forget it' approach. CaseMate's automated case formatting checks also imply ease of use, but the lack of user reviews makes it difficult to definitively say which is easier.
Which app is more valuable for a store with only one storefront?
AppsByB still holds value for a single storefront due to its backup capabilities, protecting against data loss. CaseMate's value proposition is diminished as the need to sync data between stores is absent.
Which app addresses a problem with Shopify itself?
CaseMate explicitly addresses a limitation in Shopify for non-Plus users: the inability to modify the checkout process and control customer input formatting.
Which app is more likely to cause issues if it malfunctions?
AppsByB malfunctioning could lead to a loss of backups, which is a severe issue. A CaseMate malfunction might simply result in improperly formatted addresses, a less critical problem, although still undesirable.
Which app has better social proof?
AppsByB has social proof with a 5/5 rating and 7 reviews. CaseMate has no social proof currently (0/5 rating and 0 reviews).
