AppsByB: Backup & Restore vs File Manager ‑ Custom Foldersfor Shopify (2026)
AppsByB: Backup & Restore and File Manager ‑ Custom Folders represent different operational needs within a Shopify store. AppsByB focuses on data security and cross-store synchronization, offering backup and restore functionality, data syncing between multiple stores, and product copying. This positions it as a tool for merchants concerned with data loss prevention and managing multiple storefronts efficiently. The focus is on mitigating risks associated with data changes and simplifying multi-store management. File Manager ‑ Custom Folders, in contrast, is a file management solution (although description data is missing). Its primary value proposition (unstated) lies in organizing digital assets within the Shopify platform. While the ratings differ significantly (5/5 for AppsByB and 3.7/5 for File Manager), the low number of reviews for both apps necessitates caution in drawing firm conclusions. Without further details on the File Manager app's specific functionalities, it's difficult to ascertain its niche, but it appears intended for merchants struggling with disorganized digital assets.

Our Verdict
AppsByB: Backup & Restore is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing data security and efficient management of multiple Shopify stores. Its backup, restore, and sync capabilities directly address the challenges of data loss and multi-store complexity. The higher rating, despite the low review count, further reinforces this recommendation.
File Manager ‑ Custom Folders is suitable only if a merchant's *primary* concern is organizing digital assets. However, given the limited information and lower rating, merchants should proceed with caution and carefully evaluate its specific features and performance before committing. In the absence of compelling evidence to the contrary, AppsByB presents a more robust and valuable solution for a broader range of Shopify merchants.
