AppsByB: Backup & Restore vs OneChannelAdminfor Shopify (2026)
AppsByB: Backup & Restore and OneChannelAdmin are two Shopify apps that fall under the 'Operations - Other' category but serve vastly different purposes. AppsByB focuses on data protection and multi-store management, providing tools for store backups, data synchronization, and product copying. It's designed to protect merchants from data loss and simplify the process of managing multiple Shopify stores. OneChannelAdmin, on the other hand, aims to be a comprehensive e-commerce management platform, integrating various aspects of a business, including inventory, orders, marketplaces, POS, and payment gateways. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with data security and managing multiple Shopify stores efficiently, AppsByB: Backup & Restore appears to be the more suitable option. The positive initial reviews suggest a functional and reliable solution for backing up store data and syncing information across multiple stores. Its focused functionality is beneficial to merchants who prioritize backing up products and content and/or managing multiple stores.
On the other hand, OneChannelAdmin is designed for merchants seeking a comprehensive e-commerce management platform to integrate various aspects of their business. While it holds the *potential* for streamlined operations through a centralized hub, the complete lack of reviews makes it a riskier choice compared to AppsByB, especially in 2026. Merchants should proceed with caution and seek further information before committing to OneChannelAdmin, especially if they can't tolerate glitches.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the description, AppsByB is likely simpler to use as it focuses on fewer core functionalities. OneChannelAdmin, with its wider range of features, may have a steeper learning curve.
Which app is better for a single-store owner?
AppsByB still provides value to a single-store owner by backing up product and content data. OneChannelAdmin may offer more features that cater to a single-store owner, but with no reviews it's impossible to determine how good the integrations are.
Which app is best for integrating with marketplaces like Amazon or eBay?
OneChannelAdmin explicitly mentions 'Marketplaces Integrations' as a key feature. AppsByB does not mention any marketplace integrations, so OneChannelAdmin *should* be better for that use case, *if* it works well. There are no reviews to confirm this.
Is AppsByB a replacement for a full e-commerce management system?
No, AppsByB is not a full replacement. It specializes in data backup and multi-store synchronization. OneChannelAdmin *attempts* to be a full e-commerce management system, but is unproven.
What data can be backed up with AppsByB?
AppsByB allows you to back up products and content. The description does not say what *specific* data it allows you to back up. It only mentions the option to choose what data to back up and optional content backups.
