Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts vs Magical Fees & Tariffsfor Shopify (2026)
Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts and Magical Fees & Tariffs, while both related to pricing on Shopify, serve distinct purposes. Appstle focuses on creating bundle offers and discounts to incentivize larger purchases, aiming to increase average order value. In contrast, Magical Fees & Tariffs targets merchants who need to add extra charges like fees, surcharges, deposits, or tariffs based on various factors like location or payment method. This app is about recouping costs or complying with regulations, offering flexibility in applying these fees across the online store, draft orders, and POS systems. The key differentiator lies in their core function. Appstle is about *boosting sales* through strategic pricing of bundled products and discounts. Magical Fees & Tariffs, on the other hand, provides the ability to *manage and transparently apply unavoidable fees*, often dictated by external factors. This results in very different target audiences with Appstle focusing on marketing and sales strategies, while Magical Fees & Tariffs is oriented towards accounting, regulatory compliance, and cost recovery.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to increase sales through strategic pricing, offering bundles and discounts to customers, Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts is likely the better choice. Its features are geared towards incentivizing larger purchases and boosting average order value.
However, if you need a solution to add mandatory fees like bottle deposits, eco fees, tariffs, or to recoup credit card processing fees, Magical Fees & Tariffs is the more suitable option. It offers granular control over when and how these fees are applied, ensuring transparency with customers and compliance with regulations. The ability to apply fees on POS and draft orders also makes it superior for businesses beyond just online sales. The higher rating of Appstle should be noted, however, alongside the difference in the number of reviews, which can offer broader insights into the customer experience.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the limited information, it's impossible to determine ease of use definitively. However, both apps mention user-friendly features and support, suggesting a reasonable level of usability. Additional research into user reviews focusing on usability might provide further insight.
Does either app offer volume discounts?
Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts implicitly supports volume discounts through its bundling capabilities. Magical Fees & Tariffs does not seem to, as its focus is on *adding* fees, not decreasing prices based on quantity.
Can either app handle complex tax calculations?
Neither app explicitly mentions complex tax calculations. While Magical Fees & Tariffs allows for the addition of fees, it doesn't specify integration with tax systems. This would require further investigation.
Which app integrates best with Shopify POS?
Magical Fees & Tariffs explicitly mentions its capability to apply fees on the Shopify POS, making it a better choice for in-person transactions. Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts does not explicitly mention POS integration, therefore cannot be said to be a POS solution.
Which app is better for merchants selling internationally?
Magical Fees & Tariffs, with its location-based fees feature, potentially offers better support for international merchants who need to comply with different regional taxes, fees, or tariffs. Appstle℠ Bundles & Discounts could still be useful internationally, but does not provide the specific location-based customization of Magical Fees & Tariffs.
