Appstle℠ Memberships vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Appstle℠ Memberships and Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder, while both listed under the 'Customer loyalty' category on Shopify, address fundamentally different business needs for Shopify merchants in 2026. Appstle℠ Memberships focuses on creating and managing membership programs directly within a Shopify store, offering features like tiered perks, automated billing, and a customizable member portal. Its strength lies in fostering customer loyalty through exclusive benefits and recurring revenue streams. Shopney, on the other hand, helps merchants create native iOS and Android mobile apps for their Shopify stores. Its core value proposition is improving the customer shopping experience through a dedicated mobile platform, ultimately driving sales and reducing reliance on expensive marketing ads. Essentially, Appstle℠ Memberships enhances customer loyalty by rewarding returning customers with exclusive benefits and automated subscription billing through membership programs, while Shopney focuses on improving the entire customer journey through a dedicated mobile app, providing a more personalized and streamlined shopping experience. Appstle℠ targets merchants looking to build strong customer relationships and generate recurring revenue, whereas Shopney caters to merchants aiming to leverage mobile commerce to increase conversions and retention. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to build and manage membership programs with tiered benefits and recurring billing, Appstle℠ Memberships is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed for creating loyalty through exclusive perks and automated processes. However, for merchants looking to capitalize on mobile commerce and provide a superior shopping experience through dedicated iOS and Android apps, Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder offers a compelling solution. Its ease of use (one-click app building) and focus on mobile-specific features like push notifications make it ideal for driving conversions and retaining customers through a mobile platform.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on the merchant's specific goals. If the primary objective is to build a structured membership program, Appstle wins. If the goal is to leverage the power of mobile commerce with a branded app experience, Shopney is the better option. Both apps could, in theory, be used in conjunction to create the strongest possible effect on loyalty and repeat purchases.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Both apps claim to be easy to use. Appstle emphasizes an intuitive merchant UI. Shopney boasts a 'one-click' mobile app building process with no coding required, potentially making it simpler for merchants lacking technical skills.
Which app is better for generating recurring revenue?
Appstle℠ Memberships is explicitly designed to generate recurring revenue through its automated member billing feature. Shopney, while it aims to increase sales overall, does not directly focus on recurring billing as a primary feature.
Which app is better for customer engagement?
Both apps offer features that enhance customer engagement. Appstle℠ Memberships fosters engagement through exclusive member perks and a customizable member portal. Shopney prioritizes real-time connection through in-app live chat and engagement via push notifications.
Do either of these apps integrate with other Shopify apps?
Shopney explicitly mentions a 'rich integration suite with top Shopify apps.' Appstle℠ Memberships offers robust APIs and webhooks, suggesting that it can integrate with other platforms, though not explicitly stated as integration with Shopify apps in the same way that Shopney does.
Which app is more focused on building a brand experience?
Shopney is arguably more focused on building a brand experience, as it allows merchants to create a dedicated mobile app that reflects their brand's identity and provides a seamless, branded shopping experience. While Appstle℠ Memberships allows for customization, the customer interaction primarily happens within the context of a membership program, rather than a wholly branded app experience.
