Appstle℠ Subscriptions App vs Releasit Cash on Delivery CODfor Shopify (2026)
Appstle℠ Subscriptions App and Releasit Cash on Delivery COD cater to distinct needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Appstle focuses on enabling subscription-based sales models and enhances customer loyalty through recurring orders, subscription boxes, and a comprehensive customer portal. Its strength lies in building and managing complex subscription offerings with robust merchant tools for customer engagement and churn control. The app's target audience includes merchants aiming to build recurring revenue streams and provide personalized subscription experiences. Releasit, on the other hand, addresses payment complexities associated with Cash on Delivery (COD) orders. It mitigates risks like fake orders and failed deliveries by implementing WhatsApp OTP verification and partial payment options. The app's strength lies in its risk management features and its ability to cater to regions where COD is prevalent. While both apps share the 'Selling products' and 'Payment options' categories, their core functionalities diverge significantly. Appstle is about creating a subscription business model, while Releasit optimizes the COD payment method. The choice between the two depends entirely on the merchant's business model and target market. Appstle provides tools to encourage initial and repeat purchases via subscription, and Releasit ensures safe, verifiable, and reduced risk during COD transactions.

Our Verdict
If your business model revolves around subscriptions and recurring revenue, Appstle℠ Subscriptions App is the clear choice. Its comprehensive features for managing subscriptions, building loyalty, and controlling churn are invaluable. However, if your business heavily relies on Cash on Delivery, especially in regions where COD fraud and failed deliveries are prevalent, Releasit Cash on Delivery COD is the superior option. It's designed to secure COD payments, prevent fake orders, and improve overall payment efficiency.
Merchants who offer both subscriptions AND COD might need both apps. However, if resources are constrained, prioritize based on the dominant revenue stream and challenges faced. A merchant focusing primarily on subscriptions may find some value in Releasit to secure their COD-based subscription deliveries, while a merchant with most sales as COD will likely only need Releasit.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, Releasit emphasizes "fast setup," suggesting a simpler initial configuration. Appstle, with its broader feature set, might require a steeper learning curve to fully utilize its capabilities.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, both apps can technically be used together. A merchant could use Appstle to manage subscriptions and offer COD as a payment option, then use Releasit to secure and manage the COD portion of those subscriptions.
Which app has better customer support?
Appstle explicitly mentions a 24x7x365 merchant success team, suggesting a higher level of support commitment compared to Releasit, which doesn't highlight specific support details.
Which app is more suitable for a dropshipping business?
The choice depends on the payment methods offered. If dropshipping includes subscriptions, Appstle can be helpful. If the customer base relies on COD, then Releasit is most relevant to prevent fraudulent orders and related losses.
How can Appstle help with customer retention compared to Releasit?
Appstle helps with retention through its customer loyalty features, custom subscription boxes, and an enhanced customer portal, all designed to encourage repeat purchases and engagement. Releasit primarily focuses on securing COD payments and doesn't directly address customer retention strategies.
