Our Verdict
If a merchant's primary goal is to sell subscriptions and build recurring revenue streams, Appstle℠ Subscriptions App is the clear choice. Its features are purpose-built for subscription management, customer retention, and automated recurring payments. On the other hand, if a merchant's priority is to offer extensive product customization options to overcome Shopify's variant limits, Variant Option Product Options is the better selection. It empowers shoppers to personalize products with options such as custom text, image uploads, and color variations, leading to higher customer satisfaction and potentially increased sales for products that benefit from personalization.
It's unlikely that a merchant would need both apps to accomplish a singular purpose. If a business sells subscription boxes with customizable elements, prioritizing Appstle and seeking a simple customization solution via another add-on or custom coding will be optimal. Businesses focused on customizable goods outside the subscription model will find Variant Option Product Options to be significantly more beneficial.
