Apruvd ‑ Fraud Management vs Fraud Judge Fraud Preventionfor Shopify (2026)
Apruvd ‑ Fraud Management and Fraud Judge Fraud Prevention are two Shopify apps designed to combat fraud, but they take fundamentally different approaches. Apruvd positions itself as a complete, hands-off fraud solution, promising guaranteed chargeback coverage and complete transaction decisioning. It targets merchants looking for a revenue-generating fraud solution that maximizes approval rates and minimizes false declines, essentially outsourcing their entire fraud management process. This "done-for-you" approach implies a higher price point, although pricing isn't listed. Fraud Judge, on the other hand, empowers merchants to actively manage their fraud prevention strategies. It emphasizes customization and control through user-defined rules, ID verification, and address validation. This suggests a target audience of merchants who are comfortable taking a more hands-on approach to fraud prevention and have the time and resources to customize the app's settings to their specific needs. Fraud Judge's features aim to filter and block suspicious orders proactively, increasing store security and revenue. A key difference is that Apruvd *guarantees* chargeback coverage, whereas Fraud Judge focuses on *boosting* chargeback protection via preventative measures.

Our Verdict
For merchants who want a completely hands-off approach to fraud management and are willing to pay for guaranteed chargeback coverage, Apruvd ‑ Fraud Management seems promising *if* its lack of reviews isn't a deterrent. Its claim of guaranteed chargeback coverage is a significant selling point. However, the lack of reviews makes it a riskier choice.
Fraud Judge Fraud Prevention is better suited for merchants who prefer to be more involved in their fraud prevention strategy and want granular control over the rules and verification processes. It provides tools to actively identify and block suspicious orders. The 5-star rating (albeit based on only 4 reviews) suggests a good user experience. If you have the time and resources to set up custom rules and verification processes, Fraud Judge offers a more customizable and potentially cost-effective solution.
Common Questions
Which app offers better chargeback protection?
Apruvd guarantees chargeback coverage, while Fraud Judge aims to boost chargeback protection through preventative measures. If guaranteed coverage is essential, Apruvd is the better choice, assuming it lives up to its claims. However, the lack of reviews should be considered.
Which app is easier to use?
Apruvd, with its "done-for-you" approach, is likely easier to use as it requires minimal configuration. Fraud Judge, with its customizable rules, requires more setup and monitoring.
Which app is more suitable for a small business with limited resources?
Fraud Judge might be a better starting point for small businesses as it allows for a more gradual and cost-effective implementation. Merchants can start with basic rules and gradually customize the app as needed. However, this requires more active management.
Which app requires more technical expertise?
Fraud Judge, with its customizable rules and verification processes, likely requires more technical expertise or at least a willingness to learn and configure the app's settings.
How do I know if Apruvd's guaranteed chargeback coverage is reliable?
Due to the complete lack of reviews, it's impossible to verify the reliability of Apruvd's guaranteed chargeback coverage. Merchants should thoroughly research the company and potentially contact them directly to understand the terms and conditions of the guarantee before committing to the app.
