Apruvd ‑ Fraud Management vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
Apruvd ‑ Fraud Management and Subuno both aim to prevent fraudulent transactions on Shopify stores. However, they differ significantly in their approach and current market validation. Apruvd positions itself as a comprehensive, fully managed solution, guaranteeing chargeback coverage and focusing on maximizing legitimate sales by minimizing false declines. They emphasize a customized strategy and claim to handle all complexities of fraud management for the merchant. Subuno, on the other hand, presents itself as a customizable, rules-based platform that empowers merchants to actively manage their fraud prevention strategy. The key difference lies in control and automation versus hands-off management. Subuno gives merchants tools to define rules, flag suspicious orders, conduct manual reviews, and integrate with third-party analytics. It targets merchants comfortable with a more hands-on approach to fraud prevention. Apruvd aims at merchants seeking a 'set it and forget it' solution, promising to handle all the nuances of fraud detection and prevention, potentially at a higher cost (implied, not stated). Crucially, in 2026, Apruvd has no user reviews, while Subuno has a perfect rating based on 4 reviews, signaling a significant difference in demonstrated market adoption and user satisfaction.

Our Verdict
Subuno, despite having only four reviews, currently appears to be the safer choice due to its demonstrated user satisfaction. It is more suited for merchants who want granular control over their fraud prevention and are willing to invest time in setting up rules and reviewing suspicious orders. Apruvd, with its promise of fully managed fraud protection and guaranteed chargeback coverage, *could* be a good option for larger merchants with a high volume of transactions who want a hands-off solution, *if* it can demonstrate a successful track record and user feedback in the future. Currently, its lack of reviews makes it a risky choice.
Therefore, in 2026, unless Apruvd acquires significant positive reviews and case studies, Subuno is the recommended app. Merchants who value complete control and customizability should choose Subuno. Merchants primarily concerned with ease of use and complete fraud management outsourcing *could* consider Apruvd, but only after significant due diligence and a demonstration of its effectiveness and reliability.
Common Questions
Which app offers more control over fraud prevention?
Subuno offers more control because it is a rules-based system that allows merchants to customize fraud checks and automate order processing based on specific criteria.
Which app is easier to set up and manage?
Apruvd aims to be easier as they offer transaction decisioning for you, but the lack of reviews make it tough to be confident. Subuno requires more setup as the merchant has to customize fraud checks, but the setup is "without coding".
Which app is better for small businesses?
Based on the provided data, Subuno is likely better for small businesses due to its proven customer rating and more flexible, customizable approach that aligns well with the budget and hands-on management style often found in smaller operations.
Does either app offer a free trial?
The provided data does not specify if either app offers a free trial. You would need to check their respective Shopify App Store listings for that information.
Which app focuses on capturing more legitimate sales and reducing false declines?
Apruvd explicitly states its focus on capturing legitimate sales and reducing false declines as a key benefit of their service. While Subuno helps reduce fraud, the description does not prominently discuss reducing false declines.
