AR: Buy GTINs/UPC/EAN barcodes vs Easy SKU and Barcode Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
AR: Buy GTINs/UPC/EAN barcodes and Easy SKU and Barcode Generator both address the SKU and barcode needs of Shopify merchants, but target entirely different problems. AR: Buy GTINs focuses on providing *external* facing barcodes for use with marketplaces like Google Shopping, aiming to improve product approval rates and visibility. In contrast, Easy SKU and Barcode Generator caters to *internal* inventory management by automating SKU and barcode generation for use within the merchant's store, and explicitly states it's not for major platforms. The primary difference lies in the barcodes themselves. AR: Buy GTINs sells GTINs (UPC/EAN barcodes) which are purchased and attached to the products. Easy SKU and Barcode Generator helps you create your own SKUs and barcodes. AR: Buy GTINs does not register the GTINs with any brand, whereas Easy SKU doesn't deal with external barcodes. Merchants considering AR: Buy GTINs should note the disclaimer about non-brand registered GTINs and their suitability for certain marketplaces. This makes Easy SKU an app for internal inventory management. Easy SKU's focus is on saving time and reducing errors during product listing and inventory tracking.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants struggling with marketplace approval or seeking to improve visibility on platforms like Google Shopping, AR: Buy GTINs/UPC/EAN barcodes is the more appropriate choice, *provided* they carefully consider the brand registration limitations. The higher rating and larger number of reviews suggest greater user satisfaction, but be sure to test the GTINs before purchasing in bulk, especially if Amazon or Bol are the main sales channels.
On the other hand, if a merchant primarily needs a solution for internal inventory management and wants to automate SKU and barcode generation within their Shopify store, Easy SKU and Barcode Generator is the better option. It streamlines the product listing process and minimizes manual data entry errors for internal tracking purposes. It is not for use on any marketplace.
Common Questions
