AR Estimated Delivery Date‑EDD vs Store Pickup + Delivery (CR)for Shopify (2026)
AR Estimated Delivery Date‑EDD focuses on providing accurate and prominent estimated delivery dates (EDD) and estimated times of arrival (ETA) on product pages, primarily aiming to reduce customer inquiries about delivery timelines and increase trust. Its strengths lie in its simplicity, ease of use, and direct impact on boosting sales through urgency-driven timers and clear delivery expectations. In contrast, Store Pickup + Delivery (CR) offers a more comprehensive solution centered around local order fulfillment, encompassing features for scheduling pickups and deliveries with granular control over time slots, locations, and even integrating with multi-location inventory management. Store Pickup + Delivery (CR) is designed for merchants needing to manage local delivery and pickup logistics with precision, offering functionalities like setting minimum pickup days, limiting orders per time slot, and defining delivery zones. It also includes features tailored to restaurants, a significant differentiator. AR Estimated Delivery Date‑EDD, on the other hand, seems best suited for businesses prioritizing transparency in their standard shipping process and wanting a quick, code-free solution to display delivery estimates and create a sense of urgency. The difference boils down to scope: one is about estimated delivery date communication, the other is about managing local delivery/pickup operations.
