Arc: llms.txt vs SC Easy Redirectsfor Shopify (2026)
Arc: llms.txt and SC Easy Redirects both aim to improve a Shopify store's SEO, but they address vastly different aspects. Arc: llms.txt focuses on making a store discoverable and properly indexed by Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. It automates the creation and maintenance of an `llms.txt` file, which the app positions as a complement to traditional `robots.txt` and `sitemap.xml` files for AI-driven search. Its target audience is Shopify merchants aiming to capitalize on the growing trend of AI-powered search and conversational commerce. SC Easy Redirects, on the other hand, is not described in the provided data, beyond that it shares an SEO category with Arc: llms.txt. With a significantly higher number of reviews (284 compared to Arc's 18) and a slightly lower rating (4.8/5 versus Arc's 5/5), it likely addresses a more established SEO need, given that redirects are a common SEO practice for managing broken links and URL changes. Assuming SC Easy Redirects functions as it's name suggests, it caters to merchants needing to manage and optimize their site structure for traditional search engines, by implementing redirects.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking to gain early adopter advantage in AI-driven search and ensure their products are discoverable by LLMs, Arc: llms.txt is the clear choice. It provides a focused solution for a nascent SEO area. However, the small number of reviews suggests it's a relatively new app, so due diligence is advised.
For general SEO maintenance and particularly if redirect management is needed, SC Easy Redirects is the more mature option, assuming based on its name and category. Its higher review count suggests broader adoption and potentially more robust functionality in its domain. Most sites would need redirect management, so it could be useful to get both apps, but if only one is needed, then choose between future-proofing SEO with AI Search vs general SEO practices.
Common Questions
Does Arc: llms.txt replace robots.txt and sitemap.xml?
No, Arc: llms.txt is positioned as a complement to robots.txt and sitemap.xml, specifically targeting Large Language Models (LLMs).
How does llms.txt differ from robots.txt and sitemap.xml?
Based on the description, llms.txt allows LLMs to better crawl and index the store content, with a focus on highlighting products, collections, and blogs in conversational search and AI shopping engines. We assume `llms.txt` may contain information that is designed for these new LLMs, whereas `robots.txt` restricts access for web crawlers, and `sitemap.xml` presents the sitemap for search engines.
Is SC Easy Redirects relevant if I don't have any broken links or URL changes?
Likely not. If your store's URL structure is stable and you don't anticipate any changes, redirect management is generally not necessary. It's more useful when sites undergo big changes, like a re-design.
Can I use both Arc: llms.txt and SC Easy Redirects together?
Yes, both apps address separate SEO aspects. You can use Arc: llms.txt for AI search optimization and SC Easy Redirects (assuming it manages redirects as its name suggests) for standard SEO redirects.
What level of technical expertise is required to use Arc: llms.txt?
The description states "One-Click llms.txt Generator", suggesting it's designed for non-technical users and requires minimal setup.
