ARCS Checkout Control vs Coming Soon Pre‑Launch Builderfor Shopify (2026)
ARCS Checkout Control and Coming Soon Pre‑Launch Builder are both Shopify apps listed in the 'Storefronts - Other' category, but they serve fundamentally different purposes and target distinct merchant needs. ARCS Checkout Control aims to provide merchants with the ability to display warning messages and prevent checkout based on defined conditions across various store pages. Its core value proposition lies in enabling granular control over the customer's checkout journey, allowing merchants to implement rules and validations. However, it lacks any user reviews. Coming Soon Pre‑Launch Builder, in contrast, focuses on creating engaging 'coming soon' or 'under construction' pages. It provides merchants with a suite of tools to design and customize these pages, capture email addresses, restrict access via password protection, and build anticipation using countdown timers. The app has a perfect rating and a decent number of reviews, suggesting a level of user satisfaction that ARCS Checkout Control lacks at this point in time. It targets merchants who are either launching a new store or undergoing maintenance and want to maintain customer engagement and build excitement.

Our Verdict
Choosing between ARCS Checkout Control and Coming Soon Pre‑Launch Builder hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant requires fine-grained control over their checkout process, with the ability to display warning messages and potentially prevent checkout based on certain conditions, then ARCS Checkout Control might be relevant, assuming they are comfortable being an early adopter given the lack of reviews. However, proceed with extreme caution due to the complete absence of user feedback.
For merchants launching a new store or temporarily taking their store offline for maintenance, Coming Soon Pre‑Launch Builder is the clear winner. Its established user base (indicated by the positive reviews) and feature set geared towards creating engaging 'coming soon' pages, capturing email addresses, and building anticipation make it the more reliable and feature-rich choice for this particular use case.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical merchant?
Coming Soon Pre-Launch Builder is likely easier to use due to its WYSIWYG editor and pre-designed templates. ARCS Checkout Control, focusing on condition definition and potentially involving HTML, might require more technical knowledge.
Which app is better for building an email list?
Coming Soon Pre-Launch Builder explicitly offers email collection forms that integrate with popular email marketing platforms like MailChimp and Klaviyo. ARCS Checkout Control does not offer any email collection functionality.
What are the risks of using ARCS Checkout Control with zero reviews?
Using ARCS Checkout Control with no reviews carries significant risk. The app could have bugs, compatibility issues, or be unsupported by the developer. Thorough testing in a staging environment is crucial.
Does ARCS Checkout Control slow down my website?
Without user reviews or detailed performance information, it is impossible to assess the performance impact of ARCS Checkout Control. It's important to monitor website speed after installation.
Can I use both apps at the same time?
Yes, technically you can install and use both apps concurrently. However, their purposes are very different, so there's no inherent reason to use them together unless you're simultaneously preparing for a launch (using Coming Soon Pre-Launch Builder) and need to implement specific checkout validations (using ARCS Checkout Control).
