ARCS Support Ticketing System vs Notch – Customer Support Suitefor Shopify (2026)
ARCS Support Ticketing System and Notch – Customer Support Suite are both listed under the 'Helpdesk' category in the Shopify app store, but present drastically different approaches to customer support. ARCS, with a rating of 1/5 from a single review, appears to be a basic ticketing system, likely offering a standard, perhaps more manual approach to customer support. Its low rating and minimal user feedback suggest potential issues with its functionality or usability. Notch, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive, full-service customer support solution managed by AI and expert teams. Notch aims to completely take over customer support operations, promising to handle everything from 24/7 automated chat powered by store-specific knowledge to data-driven insights for revenue growth. This suggests a target audience of merchants seeking a hands-off solution and willing to entrust their customer support entirely to a third-party service. The high rating of 5/5 (based on 4 reviews), coupled with the description emphasizing seamless integration and operational efficiency, indicates a focus on ease of use and a potentially high value proposition, despite the likely higher cost associated with a full-service offering.

Our Verdict
Given the available information, Notch appears to be the superior choice for merchants seeking a comprehensive, hands-off customer support solution and are willing to pay for the convenience and expertise it provides. Its 5/5 rating and the promise of AI-driven and expert-managed support, along with 24/7 automated chat, suggest a powerful and efficient solution. However, for businesses on a very tight budget or those preferring a more hands-on approach to customer service and willing to manage a ticketing system themselves, a solution that provides the basics could be preferred. ARCS Support Ticketing System does not provide enough information to recommend it over other solutions, but the low rating is a serious warning sign.
Merchants evaluating these apps should prioritize conducting thorough trials and verifying recent reviews before making a decision, as the limited review data presents a risk. Consider looking at other options outside of these two, especially if budget is a concern, to ensure all solutions meet your needs.
Common Questions
What are the main differences in how ARCS and Notch handle customer support?
ARCS likely offers a basic ticketing system where the merchant manages responses, while Notch provides a fully managed service with AI and expert teams handling all aspects of customer support.
Which app is more suitable for a small business with limited resources?
Based on the available data, neither app is a clear winner. ARCS has a low rating, which suggests it may not be a good option. It's recommended to evaluate more solutions or try trials to ensure all needs are met.
Does Notch require a lot of technical setup?
Notch claims to offer 'seamless integration with eCommerce platforms', which suggests a relatively straightforward setup process, but further investigation and trials would be valuable.
How reliable is the 24/7 automated chat feature in Notch?
Notch claims the 24/7 automated chat uses store knowledge, insights, and products, which is promising. However, the reliability and effectiveness would depend on the quality of the AI and the completeness of the information provided to it. Further trials and demos would be valuable.
Are there any risks associated with handing over full customer support operations to a third-party like Notch?
Yes, there are risks. Merchants should carefully evaluate Notch's data privacy policies, security measures, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure their customer data is protected and that the service meets their performance expectations. Additionally, consider any potential loss of direct contact with your customers.
