Asklo AI Assistant | FAQs, Q&A vs AutoMeta: AI custom fieldsfor Shopify (2026)
Asklo AI Assistant and AutoMeta are both Shopify apps aiming to enhance product content, but they address vastly different needs. Asklo focuses on immediate customer support and conversion optimization by providing an AI-powered chatbot that answers customer questions directly on product pages. It's designed to reduce support tickets and improve add-to-cart rates by clarifying product details, shipping policies, and more. AutoMeta, on the other hand, is about creating and managing comprehensive product data within custom fields, powered by AI content generation. It streamlines the process of enriching product, variant, and collection information within the Shopify admin panel itself. The core distinction lies in their approach. Asklo is a customer-facing solution providing instant support and information. AutoMeta is a back-end tool for enhancing product information architecture and content management. Asklo uses AI to directly interact with shoppers, answering queries and facilitating sales. AutoMeta leverages AI to generate robust product metadata that can be surfaced via the theme, APIs, or GraphQL. Choosing between the two depends on whether a merchant needs to prioritize customer support on product pages or enrich product information with AI generated metafields.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on improving customer service and boosting conversion rates through instant support on product pages, Asklo AI Assistant is the superior choice. Its real-time AI-powered chatbot directly addresses customer inquiries, leading to faster checkout and reduced support tickets. However, if the primary goal is to improve product data management and enrich product information with detailed, AI-generated custom fields without needing immediate customer support, AutoMeta would be a more valuable tool. The lack of reviews for AutoMeta raises questions about its reliability and user experience, while Asklo's perfect rating and existing user base offer more confidence.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the specific needs of the store. If a store struggles with high support ticket volume related to basic product inquiries, Asklo is the recommended solution. If a store needs to improve the depth and richness of its product data for SEO or theme customization, AutoMeta might be suitable, assuming the lack of reviews is addressed or the user is comfortable being an early adopter.
