Assortion: Upsell & Bundles vs MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Orderfor Shopify (2026)
Assortion: Upsell & Bundles and MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order both operate in the Checkout and Product bundles categories on Shopify, but they serve distinct purposes. Assortion focuses on increasing average order value by enticing customers with upsells and product bundles, aiming to enhance the customer experience and drive more revenue per transaction. MultiVariants, on the other hand, is designed to streamline the ordering process, particularly for products with numerous variations, by facilitating bulk orders. While both apps aim to improve the overall shopping experience, their approaches differ significantly. Assortion helps merchants increase their revenue by encouraging customers to buy more, whereas MultiVariants simplifies the purchasing process for items with multiple options and supports bulk purchase scenarios. Assortion appeals to merchants looking to strategically influence customer buying decisions through attractive add-ons, while MultiVariants is a better fit for businesses handling complex inventories and catering to customers who prefer to buy in bulk. The slightly higher number of reviews for Assortion may indicate broader appeal or longer market presence, while the perfect 5/5 rating for MultiVariants suggests strong satisfaction among its specific user base. Both apps have a place on the Shopify app store and aim to increase revenue for the merchants that use them, however their primary objectives are different. Therefore, the choice depends on the merchant's business needs. Do they need to drive AOV with upsells or improve the bulk order process for products with many variants?
