AstroMall: Virtual Stores vs Picture It: AR & Art Previewsfor Shopify (2026)
AstroMall: Virtual Stores and Picture It: AR & Art Previews are both Shopify apps in the 3D/AR/VR category, but they cater to vastly different needs and target audiences. AstroMall focuses on gamifying the online shopping experience, transforming a Shopify store into a mobile gaming arena. This app aims to increase engagement and drive sales through interactive mini-games and virtual stores, appealing to merchants looking to tap into the mobile gaming market and create a unique brand experience. Its strength lies in its innovative approach and potential for high customer engagement. However, it has very limited user reviews. Picture It: AR & Art Previews, on the other hand, directly addresses the challenges of selling wall art and decor online. It provides augmented reality (AR) previews of artwork in customers' homes, boosting confidence and conversions. Our Verdict
For merchants selling art, decor, or furniture, and primarily concerned with increasing customer confidence and conversions, Picture It: AR & Art Previews is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed for this niche, and the higher review count suggests greater reliability and usability. The AR previews and virtual showrooms directly address the challenges of visualizing these products in a customer's home.
However, if a merchant is looking to create a truly unique and highly engaging brand experience, especially with a younger audience familiar with mobile gaming, and is willing to invest in a more novel approach, AstroMall: Virtual Stores could be a valuable option. But given the limited user feedback, due diligence and testing are crucial. Its gamified environment could differentiate a brand, but its broad appeal and effectiveness are currently unproven.
