ATI SmartSync: ESL Integration vs Progus COD (Cash on Delivery)for Shopify (2026)
ATI SmartSync: ESL Integration and Progus COD (Cash on Delivery) are Shopify apps addressing very different operational needs. ATI SmartSync focuses on bridging the gap between online and physical retail by automatically synchronizing product pricing and promotions from a Shopify store to electronic shelf labels (ESLs). Its value proposition lies in increased efficiency, reduced errors, and improved pricing compliance for merchants with brick-and-mortar stores. Conversely, Progus COD aims to optimize the cash-on-delivery payment method, particularly beneficial in markets where COD is prevalent. It streamlines the COD process with a 1-Click order form and provides granular control over COD availability based on factors like location, order value, and customer segment. The key difference lies in their target audience. ATI SmartSync targets merchants operating both online and physical stores, looking to streamline in-store pricing management. Progus COD, on the other hand, caters to merchants who rely on Cash on Delivery as a significant payment method and want to optimize its performance and manage its risks, particularly in regions where COD is a popular payment option or has high failure rates. While both apps aim to enhance operational efficiency, they do so in completely different areas of a business.

Our Verdict
The choice between ATI SmartSync and Progus COD hinges entirely on a merchant's business model and operational needs. ATI SmartSync is a niche app best suited for retailers with physical stores who need to manage pricing across both online and offline channels. The value is in automation and reduced manual work. Progus COD is a much broader solution, valuable to any merchant who currently accepts or plans to accept cash on delivery. It increases conversions and mitigates the inherent risks of COD.
Given the current rating and review data, Progus COD appears to be a more reliable choice based on early user feedback. However, if a merchant has a strong need for ESL integration and is willing to be an early adopter, ATI SmartSync could provide significant benefits. Ultimately, merchants must assess their specific needs and risk tolerance when choosing between these two very different apps.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the feature sets, Progus COD is likely easier to set up, as it focuses on configuring existing payment options and order forms. ATI SmartSync will require integrating with specific electronic shelf label hardware, which will add complexity to the setup process.
Does ATI SmartSync work for online-only stores?
No. The app's primary function is to synchronize pricing with physical electronic shelf labels. It is not relevant for online-only stores.
Can Progus COD help reduce failed COD deliveries?
Yes. The app allows merchants to create smart rules to hide COD for certain ZIP codes or customer groups, which can help reduce the risk of failed deliveries in areas known for higher rates of non-acceptance.
What type of businesses would benefit most from ATI SmartSync?
Brick-and-mortar businesses that also operate an online store, particularly those with frequent price changes or promotions, would benefit the most. Examples include supermarkets, electronics stores, and clothing retailers.
Which app provides a better return on investment (ROI)?
ROI is dependent on each merchant's circumstances. ATI SmartSync has a higher upfront cost for ESLs but saves on labor and reduces pricing errors. Progus COD has lower upfront investment and provides immediate conversion and failed delivery savings. If you sell online and in physical locations, SmartSync has better ROI due to time and material saved, while COD has better ROI if you are seeing high abandoned carts or high failure rates on COD orders.
