Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to offer a wide range of global pickup point options during checkout (on Plus) or the thank you page, Atlas Pickup Points is the clear choice, especially if they already have established OMS/WMS systems. Its broad carrier support is its main advantage.
However, if the need is to manage a local delivery fleet and offer in-store pickup, Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE is the superior solution. Its focus on route optimization, driver management, and customer notifications makes it a comprehensive tool for handling the complexities of last-mile delivery and in-store order fulfillment.
Common Questions
Which app is better for international shipping?
Atlas Pickup Points is better suited for international shipping that involves parcel locker or pickup point delivery through established carriers. Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE focuses on local delivery.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but it depends on your specific workflow. Atlas Pickup Points handles carrier pickup points, while Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE manages local delivery and store pickup. If you offer both, they could complement each other.
Which app is easier to set up?
While both apps have 5-star ratings, Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE has more reviews, which could indicate a broader user base and potentially more documentation/support. However, Atlas Pickup Points' Shopify Build Award suggests a very user-friendly experience as well. Without a trial, it's difficult to say definitively.
Does Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE support carrier integrations for broader reach?
No, Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE focuses on managing your own delivery fleet. It does not appear to integrate with third-party carriers for pickup point selection.
Which app is better for a small, local business?
Local delivery + Pickup ‑ SE is likely a better fit for a small, local business needing to manage its own deliveries and offering store pickup. Atlas Pickup Points is more geared towards businesses with a wider geographic reach utilizing multiple carriers.
