Auction Today vs B2B Wholesale Hubfor Shopify (2026)
Auction Today and B2B Wholesale Hub, while both fitting into the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing Quotes' Shopify categories, cater to drastically different business needs and strategies. Auction Today focuses on leveraging the auction model to create urgency and excitement around product sales, particularly suitable for unique or limited-quantity items. It aims to maximize revenue through dynamic bidding and provides features to manage the entire auction lifecycle, from bidding to invoicing. In contrast, B2B Wholesale Hub addresses the needs of merchants looking to expand into or manage wholesale operations alongside their B2C sales. It provides tools for offering tiered pricing, custom discounts, and B2B-specific functionalities like net terms and quick order forms. The primary difference lies in their value proposition. Auction Today offers a way to generate buzz and potentially higher prices for individual products through a time-limited auction format. B2B Wholesale Hub, on the other hand, is geared towards building and managing relationships with wholesale buyers, offering customized pricing structures and features tailored to wholesale order processing and customer management. While Auction Today focuses on maximizing individual product revenue through competitive bidding, B2B Wholesale Hub focuses on long-term relationships and volume sales to specific customer groups.

If the merchant is looking to generate excitement and maximize revenue on individual, unique, or limited-quantity products, Auction Today is the clear choice. While Auction Today offers a short-term revenue boost, B2B Wholesale Hub facilitates sustained wholesale growth and relationships.
Common Questions
Can I use both Auction Today and B2B Wholesale Hub in the same Shopify store?
Potentially, yes, but their core functionalities do not directly overlap. Auction Today focuses on auction-style sales, while B2B Wholesale Hub is for traditional wholesale pricing. They address different customer segments and sales strategies. Using both would require careful planning to avoid customer confusion.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Without hands-on experience in 2026, it's difficult to definitively say. However, B2B Wholesale Hub, with its focus on managing customer groups and pricing rules, may have a steeper initial learning curve compared to Auction Today, which has a more straightforward auction setup process.
Does Auction Today support bulk auctions?
The description mentions 'Run auction on your product and variants,' which suggests support for multiple products/variants, but not necessarily bulk auctions for large quantities of the same item, if the intention is to run many auctions at once.
Does B2B Wholesale Hub integrate with other apps like accounting software?
The provided description doesn't mention specific integrations beyond Shopify Forms & Flow. Integration capabilities would need to be verified with the app developer or documentation.
Is Auction Today suitable for perishable goods?
While technically possible, using Auction Today for perishable goods would require careful consideration of the auction duration and shipping logistics to ensure freshness. The inherent delay of an auction format might not be ideal.
