Audioly ‑ Sticky Audio Player vs MP Digital Downloadsfor Shopify (2026)
Audioly ‑ Sticky Audio Player and MP Digital Downloads, while both categorized under 'Digital goods and services - Other' on Shopify, serve vastly different purposes. Audioly focuses on providing audio previews for digital audio files, aiming to enhance the browsing experience and drive conversions by allowing customers to sample audio before purchase. It boasts a relatively high rating (4.9/5) albeit based on a small sample size (4 reviews) and features like a waveform display, automatic sample creation, and a sticky player with an 'add to cart' button, targeting merchants specifically selling audio content who want to improve sales. In contrast, MP Digital Downloads is designed to facilitate the secure and automated delivery of various digital products, including eBooks, videos, software, and license keys. Its value proposition revolves around instant delivery, file protection through usage limits, and built-in analytics. The app claims to support unlimited products and diverse file types. However, it currently lacks any ratings or reviews, making it difficult to assess its reliability and performance. It targets merchants selling any type of downloadable digital product, prioritizing secure and automated delivery over in-store preview functionalities.

Our Verdict
The choice between Audioly ‑ Sticky Audio Player and MP Digital Downloads depends entirely on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. If the primary goal is to boost sales of audio files by offering convenient previews, Audioly is the clear choice, especially considering its positive (albeit limited) user feedback. Its audio-centric features are well-suited for that purpose.
However, if the merchant needs a comprehensive solution for delivering a wide range of digital products automatically and securely, MP Digital Downloads presents a more appropriate feature set. While the lack of reviews is a significant concern, its focus on delivery automation, file protection, and analytics makes it a potentially valuable tool for managing digital product sales at scale. Merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly test MP Digital Downloads before relying on it heavily, given the absence of user reviews.
