Auglio Cosmetics Try‑On vs Camouflage: Hide Sold Variantsfor Shopify (2026)
Auglio Cosmetics Try-On and Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants serve vastly different purposes on a Shopify store, despite sharing the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories. Auglio aims to enhance the customer experience in the cosmetics niche through augmented reality, allowing customers to virtually try on makeup. Its key strength lies in its potential to increase engagement and sales by boosting customer confidence and reducing returns through informed purchase decisions. Camouflage, on the other hand, addresses a more practical operational issue – managing product variants, especially sold-out ones, to prevent customer frustration. Its strength is in streamlining the customer journey by ensuring only available products are prominently displayed, preventing wasted time and potential cart abandonment. The target audience also differs significantly. Auglio is tailored specifically for beauty e-commerce stores selling decorative cosmetics, appealing to merchants looking to leverage AR technology to improve conversion rates. Camouflage targets a broader range of e-commerce stores struggling with inventory management and aiming to improve the user experience by clearly communicating product availability. While both apps boast a perfect 5/5 rating, the significantly larger number of reviews for Camouflage (233 vs. 2) suggests a more established user base and potentially wider applicability.

Our Verdict
The choice between Auglio Cosmetics Try-On and Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants depends heavily on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. For cosmetics stores seeking to leverage cutting-edge AR technology to boost sales and engagement, Auglio is the clear choice, despite its limited number of reviews. Its specialized focus on cosmetics virtual try-on makes it a niche tool that, if effective, could provide a strong competitive advantage.
However, for the vast majority of Shopify stores struggling with managing product variants and providing a seamless customer experience, Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants is likely the more practical and impactful solution. Its large user base, as reflected in its significantly higher number of reviews, and its focus on solving a common pain point in e-commerce make it a reliable and valuable app. While Auglio is innovative, Camouflage addresses a fundamental requirement for most online stores, making it the more broadly applicable option.
