Auto DS: AI Dropshipping & POD vs Gelato: Print on Demandfor Shopify (2026)
Auto DS: AI Dropshipping & POD and Gelato: Print on Demand both cater to Shopify merchants seeking to simplify product sourcing and fulfillment, but they operate on fundamentally different models. Auto DS focuses on traditional dropshipping, connecting merchants with suppliers (primarily in the US and EU) and automating product import, optimization, and order fulfillment. It emphasizes finding trending products and handling the entire dropshipping process. Gelato, on the other hand, specializes in print-on-demand (POD), enabling merchants to sell custom products produced and shipped locally through a global network of print hubs. The primary distinction lies in their sourcing and fulfillment methods. Auto DS acts as a middleman between the merchant and existing suppliers of potentially trending products. Gelato empowers merchants to create and sell their unique designs on a range of products, handling production and shipping on demand. Auto DS targets merchants looking to quickly populate their store with a variety of existing products, while Gelato caters to creators and businesses seeking to sell custom-designed merchandise without managing inventory or production.

Our Verdict
If you're looking to quickly start a dropshipping store with potentially trending products from US/EU suppliers, and prioritize automation of sourcing and fulfillment, Auto DS: AI Dropshipping & POD is the better choice. Their AI tools are likely useful in identifying potential products and automating manual processes.
However, if you want to sell custom-designed products globally, avoid inventory risks, and prioritize faster, greener shipping through local production hubs, Gelato: Print on Demand is the clear winner. It's ideal for artists, designers, and brands looking to offer unique merchandise without the complexities of traditional manufacturing and distribution.

Which app offers better profit margins?
Profit margins depend on factors like product pricing, design quality, and marketing efforts. Gelato emphasizes higher margins due to local fulfillment potentially reducing shipping costs. Auto DS margins are dependent on supplier pricing, so must be examined on a case-by-case basis.
Which app is more environmentally friendly?
Gelato: Print on Demand promotes a more environmentally friendly approach through its network of local production hubs, reducing the need for long-distance shipping and associated carbon emissions. This helps align with increasingly important sustainability values.
