Auto Purchase Orders vs NotifyMefor Shopify (2026)
Auto Purchase Orders and NotifyMe target entirely different needs for Shopify merchants. Auto Purchase Orders is a comprehensive inventory and purchase order management solution, designed for businesses needing to automate their procurement process, manage vendors, and integrate with accounting software. Its features are geared towards optimizing supply chain operations and reducing manual effort. In contrast, NotifyMe is a basic notification app focused on alerting store owners about key events via SMS. Its primary benefit is accessibility in situations with limited or no internet connectivity, catering to merchants who prioritize immediate awareness of store activity regardless of location. While both apps technically fall under the 'Staff notifications' category, their implementations and target audiences diverge significantly. Auto Purchase Orders is a complex, feature-rich application requiring some setup and configuration. It serves businesses dealing with significant inventory and needing efficient purchase order workflows. NotifyMe, on the other hand, offers a simple, immediately usable service that's perfect for very small businesses or sole proprietors who need quick notifications without relying on internet access. Its lack of features and limited functionality reflect its niche positioning.

Our Verdict
For merchants with a substantial inventory, dropshipping operations, and a need to streamline their purchase order process, Auto Purchase Orders is the clear choice. Its robust feature set, including automated PO generation, vendor management, and accounting integrations, makes it a powerful tool for optimizing supply chain efficiency. However, given the lack of reviews and the focus on an urgent need for SMS notifications, NotifyMe might be useful for solo entrepreneurs who travel frequently and need immediate alerts about orders, especially when reliable internet is not always available.
Ultimately, the applications serve different segments. If you're looking to comprehensively manage your purchase orders and inventory, Auto Purchase Orders is the better option, especially if you value automation and integration capabilities. If you simply want SMS notifications about new orders and shipments, and don't have reliable internet access, NotifyMe offers that functionality.
