Avada GDPR Cookies Consent vs SA Request a Quote, Hide Pricefor Shopify (2026)
Avada GDPR Cookies Consent and SA Request a Quote, Hide Price are Shopify apps addressing entirely different merchant needs, despite sharing the "Notifications" category. Avada focuses on legal compliance, specifically cookie consent under GDPR, CCPA, and other international privacy laws. Its strength lies in its comprehensive feature set for managing cookie consent, including automatic translation, customization options, a privacy policy generator, and compatibility with Google Consent Mode v2. It aims to help merchants avoid legal issues and build customer trust by adhering to data privacy regulations. SA Request a Quote, Hide Price, on the other hand, caters to merchants seeking to implement a request-for-quote (RFQ) system, often beneficial for B2B or D2C sales scenarios where price negotiation is common. It enables customers to submit quotes, hide prices, and requires login to see pricing, adding a layer of exclusivity or personalized pricing strategies. This app targets merchants who want more control over pricing and direct interaction with customers to close deals. It’s focused on improving sales through negotiation and targeted pricing models.

Our Verdict
The choice between Avada GDPR Cookies Consent and SA Request a Quote, Hide Price hinges entirely on the merchant's needs. If legal compliance regarding user data and cookie consent is the primary concern, Avada GDPR Cookies Consent is the clear choice. Its comprehensive feature set and high rating indicate it effectively addresses the complexities of GDPR, CCPA, and related laws. The 5/5 rating and higher review count suggest superior user satisfaction in this area.
Conversely, if the merchant is focused on B2B sales, direct customer interaction through price negotiation, and potentially hiding prices from certain customers, SA Request a Quote, Hide Price is the better option. While its rating is slightly lower, it directly addresses the need for a flexible pricing model and request-for-quote functionality, essential for many B2B and some D2C businesses.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Without hands-on experience, it's hard to definitively say. Avada might require more initial configuration due to the complexity of GDPR/CCPA settings, but provides comprehensive documentation. SA Request a Quote might be simpler if the merchant is already familiar with B2B sales concepts.
Does either app offer a free plan?
The provided data does not mention pricing plans, including free plans, for either app. Further research on the Shopify App Store would be necessary.
Which app is more likely to improve customer trust?
Avada GDPR Cookies Consent directly improves customer trust by demonstrating a commitment to data privacy and transparency, adhering to legal requirements like GDPR. SA Request a Quote can indirectly improve trust through personalized pricing and negotiation, but its primary focus isn't on data privacy.
Do these apps conflict with each other?
No, these apps do not conflict with each other. They serve completely different purposes: legal compliance vs. sales process modification. A merchant could theoretically use both if they had both compliance and B2B sales needs.
Which app requires coding knowledge to use effectively?
Neither app appears to require extensive coding knowledge. Avada offers customization options for the cookie banner's style and content, but those are likely configurable through the app's interface. SA Request a Quote offers design customization for the RFQ button and form, also likely through a user-friendly interface.
