Avis Product Options, Variants vs Croppy: Crop and Upload Imagesfor Shopify (2026)
Avis Product Options, Variants and Croppy: Crop and Upload Images cater to different aspects of custom product personalization on Shopify. Avis Product Options, Variants focuses on providing merchants the ability to offer a wide array of product options and variants, enabling customers to tailor products through pre-defined choices. This is evidenced by its strong user rating of 5/5 based on over 1366 reviews, suggesting a reliable and well-received solution for general product customization via variants. In contrast, Croppy: Crop and Upload Images empowers customers to directly upload and manipulate images (crop, mask) for personalization. Its strength lies in its focus on image-based customization, catering to merchants needing this specific functionality. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking general product customization through options and variants, Avis Product Options, Variants appears to be the stronger choice due to its established track record and positive user feedback. Its high rating and large number of reviews provide evidence of its reliability and effectiveness. In contrast, Croppy: Crop and Upload Images is suitable for merchants specifically needing customer image uploads and manipulation features. However, its lack of reviews means that the app could be unstable and less user-friendly than claimed.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific customization needs of the merchant and the degree of risk they're willing to take. If image uploads are crucial and the merchant is comfortable being an early adopter, Croppy might be worth investigating. Otherwise, Avis Product Options, Variants represents a safer and more proven option.
