Avis Product Options, Variants vs Retailed Size Chart & Guidefor Shopify (2026)
Avis Product Options, Variants and Retailed Size Chart & Guide both aim to enhance product presentation and customization on Shopify stores, but they cater to distinct needs. Avis Product Options, Variants focuses on enabling merchants to offer a wide array of product customization options and variations, allowing customers to tailor products to their specific preferences. The high number of reviews (1366) suggests a large and active user base. On the other hand, Retailed Size Chart & Guide specializes in providing size charts and guides, particularly beneficial for apparel and footwear retailers. Its much smaller review count (17) suggests a more niche appeal or a newer app. While both apps share the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' Shopify categories, their functionalities are vastly different. Avis Product Options, Variants is likely geared towards merchants selling products with extensive customizable attributes like color, size (beyond standard sizes), materials, and personalized text. Retailed Size Chart & Guide, conversely, is purpose-built for merchants whose products require sizing information, helping customers choose the correct size and reduce returns. Both apps boast a perfect 5/5 rating, suggesting strong user satisfaction within their respective niches. Merchants need to decide whether their core need is complex product customization or size guidance for apparel/footwear. The significant difference in review volume between the two apps may also reflect the respective maturity and breadth of features offered by each. Consider the overall complexity of your product catalog and whether a size guide is a necessity for your business.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling products requiring extensive customization options beyond basic sizes, Avis Product Options, Variants is the clear choice. The high review count suggests a robust and widely used solution. However, for merchants specifically needing a solution for displaying size charts and guides, particularly in the apparel or footwear industry, Retailed Size Chart & Guide is the more appropriate and focused option. While the review count is lower, the specialization makes it a strong contender for its target audience. A merchant who sells standard sized t-shirts, but also offers design personalization on them would likely benefit from both apps. But if a merchant only sells size based products (clothes and shoes), or only offers custom designs, they can select one or the other. I would recommend Avis Product Options, Variants in general as the higher review counts indicate the app has been battle tested more robustly and is more likely to still be running without bugs in 2026. It is the safer choice.
