Avis Product Options, Variants vs Sortify ‑ Collection Sortfor Shopify (2026)
Avis Product Options, Variants and Sortify ‑ Collection Sort, while both categorized under 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' on the Shopify App Store, cater to fundamentally different needs. Avis Product Options, Variants appears to focus on enhancing the product customization experience, enabling merchants to offer diverse options and variants to their customers. Its exceptional rating (5/5) based on a substantial number of reviews (1366) suggests a high level of satisfaction among its user base, indicating robust functionality and reliable performance. It is very possible that Avis has evolved significantly by 2026, but the provided data doesn't indicate their plans. Sortify ‑ Collection Sort, on the other hand, concentrates on improving collection management and product discovery. It aims to help merchants organize their collections using customizable sorting rules, such as bestseller, price, stock, and product variants. The app's key features include real-time multi-rule sorting, global sort options for out-of-stock products, and the ability to prioritize products with more variants. However, with a low rating of 2/5 and only one review, its performance and reliability are questionable and suggests that Sortify may not be an ideal solution for larger merchants at the moment. Further research into its functionality and user experience would be required to establish if this is a viable tool for inventory management.

Our Verdict
Avis Product Options, Variants is the clear choice for merchants who need a proven and reliable solution for product customization and variant management. The high rating and substantial review count indicate a well-regarded and likely user-friendly app. For merchants struggling to organize their collections and manage inventory visibility, Sortify ‑ Collection Sort presents a *potential* solution. However, its significantly lower rating and minimal review count raise serious concerns about its reliability and effectiveness.
While Sortify's features like real-time multi-rule sorting and out-of-stock management are appealing, merchants should proceed with caution and carefully evaluate the app's performance and support before committing. A free trial or demo would be strongly advisable. For most use-cases, the high rating and volume of positive reviews for Avis make it the obvious choice unless collection sorting is the primary driver.
